Johnson’s Garden Center will be on hand with a selection of native perennials and flowering plants, with information on how easy-to-maintain natives are beneficial for a better future by helping attract bees and butterflies and discouraging invasive species.

The Audubon Naturalist Society inspires residents of the greater Washington, DC, region to appreciate, understand, and protect their natural environment through outdoor experiences, education, and advocacy.  The headquarters of ANS are at the Woodend Nature Sanctuary, down the road from Kensington in North Chevy Chase.  Volunteers will be on hand with a sampling of naturalist books and other items from the Audubon Naturalist Shop, as well as information about our many environmental programs for children and adults.  Stop by with your little ones for a nature-themed craft project.
